Dulcy dog photography
Dulcy Dog Photography was born out of a deep love of animals, specifically a very special pup named Dulcy, and of the connection between animals and their people. I believe that dogs are as much a part of the family as any human, and that they can enrich our lives in ways that I am still discovering. I want to not only create timeless portraits of your dogs, but to also tell the story of your family by producing high-quality lifestyle images and products that allow you to take everyday moments-in-time with your pets with you always.
Absolutely LOVE the photos from our mini session! They capture us so well and it is fun to see our dog adventures from a new angle.
Mel is great to work with. Very easy going, gives clear, simple instructions, and really involves your dog in the shoot. She's clearly very experienced and comfortable working with dogs, so it felt easy to get great photos with my scent-loving, distractable pup.

My partner and I had never had any professional pictures taken before and we felt comfortable with Melanie right away! Our dog is typically camera shy and we forewarned her and she did not seem fazed at all. Somehow, she managed to capture beautiful pictures of all of us, including the camera shy dog who seemed to warm right up to the camera!
The location Melanie chose for us was lovely and completely private which made it more comfortable for us. She also picked the perfect time of day for natural lighting and it absolutely added to the quality of the pictures.
She emailed us our pictures quickly and was willing to make 2 changes we requested the same day without any problems. It was well worth the money and we have already recommended her to friends.

Melanie is the best! She's my go to for photos and I'm so glad I found her. When I was describing what kind of shoot I wanted, I didn't have any great ideas other than telling her I really needed someone who could capture all the love I have for my dogs and the connection we have. All sessions come with a full digital gallery, questionnaires to learn about your pets, and access to a professional print store.
Session types include Standard, Adventure, Grow-With-Me, and Celebration/End of Life.
For dogs who might have some reactivity, or for clients who want to let their dog run off leash without the hassle and unpredictability of the dog park, access to the woods behind Winterfell Acres in Brooklyn, WI is available with purchase of an Adventure Session.
Melanie has several years of experience with all types and temperaments of dogs, including work at a shelter in rural Montana. She is fully comfortable with dogs who might be difficult and need some extra time/help.
